When you come for a session at Spirited Connections Counselling, keep in mind that you will be going outside, that you are at a barn, and that you will be working with animals.
Clothing: wear weather-appropriate clothing, and preferably clothes which can get dirty. Wearing layers can be helpful.
Shoes: wear flat-soled shoes, sneakers or hiking boots. Shoes must have covered toes. Sandals and flip-flops are not permitted for direct horse contact.
Accessories: sunscreen, bug-spray and a water bottle on the warmer days, and a toque and mitts when it’s colder.
Safety: children 14 and under are required to wear a helmet at all times when interacting with the herd, so please bring a helmet with you. One will be provided if you forget.
Equine facilitated psychotherapy sessions at Spirited Connections Counselling run year round. We do ask that you leave your pets at home.
